RED COLLAR PUPPY

Collar color: Red
Sex: F
Date born:  January 25, 2008
Time born:  7:15 pm
Weight: 15 oz

I was the fourth puppy born.  Three girls, one boy... yeah for the girls!  I'm considered a go-getter because I can crawl very fast, and very directly to my mama's nipples.  I don't think anything will stop me!  When I grow up, I may solve any problem to get to my food!  I'm a little more boistrous than my brothers and sisters when I'm lying on my back being petted... maybe if I can eat that way?  My auntie Charli helped me enter this world, she is a trainer for Pawsitive Teams, and had a sleepover with me and my littermates the first night. I was born at 7:15 pm.

At day 10, I'm one of the biggest girls.  I like hanging with my brothers, and maybe I'll be a tomboy when I grow up!

At 2 weeks, I can hang with the big boys... I weigh almost as much as them.

At 3 weeks, I'm not feeling very well, but the doctors at ABC Veterinary clinic are taking very good care of me.  I developed pneumonia and had to be hospitalized for four days.  At 24 days I was able to go back home, feeling MUCH better.  After another week of antibiotics, I am expected to make a full recovery.  The staff at ABC clinic have named me Hope.  I incurred a lot of medical bills while in the hospital, so a "Hope fund" has been developed on behalf of me.  If you'd like to donate to help pay these bills, click the donate button below.  Thank you for caring about me!  I really appreciate all those prayers that were said for me.

At 4 weeks, I'm full of energy.  I pole vault out of the whelping box anytime I see my mama walking by.  The other day I followed her into the hallway and got to have a meal all by myself.  But then, she heard something outside, and left me all alone.  I was dis-oriented at first, cried a little.  Then, Rina walked by and I caught her scent, and tracked it back to the whelping box.  I'm still on antibiotics but feeling really good.  I'm good at eating too... instead of eating from the bowl, I jump in, and walk in a circle... eating as I good.  Good technique, huh?

At 5 weeks, I'm the most voracious eater.  I'm the first to start, and the last to finish.  I like to stand in the bowl.  I like my play yard and go on all the equipment.  I also like to play fight with my littermates.   I like spending alone time with my mama too!

At 6 weeks, I still like standing in the food bowl, and eating as much as I can.  I just love food!  I also enjoy giving kisses... anyone who puts their face near mine will definitely get licked!  I also like to play in laps.  I had a follow-up xray and my lungs have completely cleared up!

At 7 weeks, I really enjoy playing on laps.  I will play quietly... although biting fingers is a favorite past time too.  My favorite thing is to be with people... I'm a real people person!!  I met a horse, but it was no big deal... I rather hang out with people.

At 8 weeks, my new name is Kalani, which means "heavenly one" in Hawaiian.  My new owner, Andra named me that because I'm a survivor, and I have a pure heart.  I'm living in Mira Mesa, and now have a big brother golden named Bear.  My life will be filled with surfing, hiking, swimming, and all kinds of outdoor things that Andra and Bear enjoy doing.  I will be involved in pet therapy, and maybe even learn service dog tasks.
