Volunteer Opportunities

Since Puppy Prodigies has no paid staff, we are always looking for volunteers who share our mission. It is our volunteers that help make our organization a success. We truly appreciate the time, energy, and commitment of these selfless people, and hope you'll become part of our family! Volunteers are needed in a variety of areas which are outlined below. We are looking for people who can give as much, or as little time that their busy lives allow. If you're interested in volunteering, please click here to complete an online volunteer application. 	PUPPY CUDDLER... Cuddle (p)up and socialize! This is a pretty relaxing job! We need people who are willing to be trained in handling puppies, providing gentle cuddling during the socialization period starting at 3 weeks and continuing until the puppies go to their new home or program... usually between 7-8 weeks of age (at which time the socialization will continue in their new home). This early handling improves their ability to thrive and helps them become socialized to many different types of people and handling.
	SECRETARY/ASSISTANT Help our Executive Director in day-to-day operations CLERICAL/COMPUTER WORK We can use help with mailing, answering phones, returning phone calls, printing, copying, answering emails, filing, preparing documents, etc.
	BOARD MEMBERS We're looking for individuals with knowledge and experience in non-profit corporations to join our Board of Directors and help fulfill the mission of Puppy Prodigies. RECORD KEEPER We keep records of almost everything the puppies do. From birth weight to whose eyes open first. We also keep records of our donations, purchases, etc... basically we record everything.
	PUPPY PARTIES We need people to help plan our weekly puppy parties, secure guests, and most importantly, BE A GUEST! For more info on these events visit our puppy parties page.
	FUND RAISING We're looking for people to help with local fund raising activities which include organizing events for Puppy Prodigies, participating in community events, and hosting a fund raiser at your place of business, school, church, etc.
	RUNNING ERRANDS Boy could we use you for this! When our puppies are born, we're with them almost 24/7, so that leaves very little time to go to the post office, grocery store, etc.
	PUPPY BATHER/GROOMER Puppy nails grow incredibly fast and can be painful to the mom when nursing. So, we can use some extra hands to trim nails. We start with sponge baths for our pups, so if you have a rubber ducky, this is the job for you!
	VET TECH We could use your skills for de-worming, vaccines, microchipping, etc.
	GRANT RESEARCHER AND PROPOSAL WRITER Do you have experience in grant writing? Call us today!! Don't delay... do not pass go, do not collect $200 dollars. Oh, wait a minute... that's what we WANT you to do!
	LEGAL SERVICES We'd love your help in preparing contracts, or answering legal type questions.
	COURIER/TRANSPORTATION We sometimes need help securing a "ride" for an individual picking up a puppy. Many of the programs that receive our puppies are from out of state and travel via air. They could use a ride from/to the airport with their "extra luggage"
	SOCIAL BUTTERFLIES These are specially trained positions that help socialize our puppies. We slowly introduce the pups to the outside world by taking them on short group field trips in a "puppy papoose" or puppy stroller. We go to such places as the grocery store, Home Depot, etc. If you're shy, you may not want to do this because with a baby puppy in your papoose, you're sure to make new friends!
	HANDY ANDY OR ANNIE We can always use someone with a carpentry or woodworking background, or someone who's just plain handy that can put a whelping box together, help us build agility equipment for our puppy playground, or create simulated training tools.
	PHOTOGRAPHER & VIDEOGRAPHER Are you good at catching "the moment"? There's nothing cuter than a picture of a puppy, and the more pictures the better! They grow so fast! We could also use a photographer at our puppy parties, special events, etc. We also videotape our puppies births.
	POOPER SCOOPER Did somebody say poop? For little puppies, they sure poop a lot. We could certainly use your help with this never ending job! LAUNDERER There are always blankets, towels, bedding, etc that need to be washed... every day! Several times a day!
