breeder collaboration
We also provide breeders with educational opportunities to learn more about our program. We will either structure a seminar or one-on-one training sessions to teach you what you'd like to learn specific to your situation. In addition, we provide all the facets of our program on-site at your facility, providing all the "manpower" that goes into the neo-natal and early learning program.
BREEDER COLLABORATION
"Behind every successful puppy is a proud breeder". You know the feeling of pride when you produce exceptional offspring. But, have you ever considered the heartfelt pride you'd feel if your puppies were creating a legacy by making a difference in the lives of people with disabilities?
Breeders are an integral part of our early learning program, and it's through their dedication that Puppy Prodigies is able to do what we do. It's our standard protocol to collaborate with breeders in an effort to produce exceptional puppies who are destined for a future in assistance work. Our breeders are a select group of conscientious, responsible, and trusted individuals who have a steadfast adherence to a strict code of ethics. They are known for their purebred dams and sires who exhibit the behaviors that exemplify the assistance work their puppies are meant to perform. They place utmost importance on breeding only those dogs who posses great temperaments and excellent genetic health which includes clear hips, elbows, hearts and eyes. These individuals are also expert in the field of reproduction, have extensive knowledge of breeding, and possess expertise in pedigrees. They provide exceptional dogs who are bred with the intention of improving the breed and producing the best puppies possible.
We look for breeding stock that will produce puppies who are amiable, willing to please, confident in new situations, focused on their handler, and have a "laid back" personality.
Because we provide an early start, we begin working with puppies from the moment they're born. Actually, before they're born because we believe in pre-natal conditioning too! We devote all our time to puppy rearing, development and training because, as you know the first weeks of a puppies life are crucial to his developmental well-being.
We employ strategic, incremental and structured methods to facilitate the growth and success of each puppy which gives us the ability to condition them according to his/her future working environment. All puppies are given the same care and training regardless of their future role. So even if the puppy goes on to the wonderful life of a pet dog, he will have an exceptional beginning and a repertoire of trained behaviors, making the transition to his new home much smoother... and making him a more valued asset of a breeding program.
We maintain consistent follow-up throughout the puppy's training so we can evaluate progress, as well as keep our breeders up to date on their puppy's success. Our breeder collaboration program offers our breeders the opportunity to get more involved in the assistance dog industry and bring their pups into the forefront of service work... their puppies truly make a difference in the lives of others!
